entrally located in the Warehouse District in Austin, TX, Péché is distinctly Austin's first absinthe bar and the only place is the city where pre-prohibition style cocktails are prepared perfectly by our expert bartenders or "mixologists". Happy Hour is from 4-6 pm weekdays and all day on Sunday and Monday. All appetizers and sandwiches are half off during Happy Hour, or "Green Hour" if you will, and all the pre-prohibition cocktails are $5. Dorothy Parker and Oscar Wilde would be proud!
The atmosphere of Péché evokes the grandeur of the Belle Epoque, but is total cafe style and relaxing. Good conversation and inspiration guaranteed! Our new chef Jason Dodge has created one of the best menus in Austin. Local food critic Rob Balon came in and was overwhelmed with Péché. Here is a link to the review and you can watch the news piece video here. Absinthe, often called “the Green Fairy,” is a newly legalized liquor in the United States that originated in Switzerland made from green anise and wormwood. Vincent Van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Charles Pierre Baudelaire, and Paul Verlaine were all recognized fans of the drink. But come judge for yourself and experience the legendary green fairy. Ask any of our bartenders and they would love to relay the history of absinthe and pre-prohibition style cocktails. Make a dinner reservation through Open Table.
